However, kneading bread has been wrecking havoc on my wrists the last few months. I need my wrists for important things like .... well... quilting... painting.... knitting, you know , the really important things. So talking to DD on the phone (after the fact) she suggested I get a bread making machine from Wal*Mart. I didn't think ours carried them but I called anyway.... then ran (in the car) to grab this on clearance, reduced bargain of the week! a whole $25! Made by Oster, it has so many features it will take me a month to learn!
I know.... you've seen bread machines before (sheepish grin)
hubby can have his different kinds of bread without having to eat 6 loaves of one kind at once ....... and

That was truly a bargain buy!!!
I'll have my thick slice of bread with some butter and a dab of homemade raspberry jam please.
Susan, sometimes kids know best!
Jo, I will gladly share!
Boy, did you ever get a good deal on the bread maker. I bought one some years back, when the price was way tooooo high, and gave it to someone because I didn't like the idea of one loaf after all day...I needed lots at one time to freeze so I could get at my hooking, but then again, my wrists are ok, so far....enjoy. That bread looks mighty good...
Yup, that was a good deal. I do miss mine, for those quick dinner bread or rolls.
I have a Bosch mixer and it can handle mixing and kneading up to 20 cups of flour. That's about 4-5 loaves and some pizza dough or rolls. I'm like you, saving my wrists for the more important things. :)
Can't wait to see that first loaf of bread.
What a great deal! My mother in law is wantin to know what I'd like for Christmas... Now I'm thinkin a bread machine :)
One other nice thing about a bread machine is you can make bread as gifts for others. Did ya consider that? That's what I did for quite a time after getting my first one. (Have my 2nd one now.) Late catching up on your last three posts here, so.... nice painting. And beautiful chickens!
I have a friend with some kind of bread maker and she just puts all the ingredients in at night and wakes up to the lovely smell of fresh baked bread. How lovely is that!
I have a bread maker and really enjoy mine, you are going to have lots of fun with yours.
